A preview...

.

Hello, dear ones.  Happy Friday to you all!

I am in the process of adding many new pieces to my shop.
Some of them are live and available at Fringe as of yesterday.
You can check them out here.

Other designs (like the first two shown below), will be listed soon.
Later today, if all goes according to schedule.
It truly is quite a time-consuming process to list items.
So please bear with me...

The first two pieces listed are one-of-a-kind.
I do so love them!
We must love our creations, otherwise there's no passion in our work.

When these pieces go, so will a little piece of my heart.
I am so happy when someone feels something for my work .
A feeling so strong that they want it for their own.
I envision a piece of my soul arriving at their doorstep.
Knowing it will be loved and cherished, makes me feel loved and cherished.

There are indeed more items that I still need to photograph and fuss over.

I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of coming attractions....
I will continue to post previews of the new designs here,
as they prepare for their debuts.

Have a beautiful Friday, darlings.
Thank you so much for visiting.
You make my heart sing....xo

Meet my assistants...

.

You've never really been properly introduced.
I apologize.
Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to my lovely assistants.

Meet Betty.
She's been with me since 2007.
I started Fringe in 2006, and Betty has been here,
working tirelessly by my side since the early days.
For lack of a better term, she's a real workhorse.
Without her, Fringe wouldn't be what it is today.

...Oh, the laughs we've had together in the last four years!

And Roberta.
My dad found Roberta at an auction last year.
Don't let her vibrant red fool you.
She's actually quite shy.
She's also vintage, which means she has a lot to offer with experience.
Roberta prefers to stay behind the scenes for now, and I respect that.

Last, but certainly not least, meet Jane.
Jane of the demure, long-necked, elegant and serene variety.
She adds beauty and perfect light-reflecting qualities to all she does.
The camera loves her.

There you have it, my three splendid assistants.
Each one different, all perfect in their own way.
And they all get along beautifully.
How many of us can say that about our co-workers?

In the past, I've daydreamed about how wonderful it would be to have
an assistant (or two).
Just today, I was thinking along those lines.

Then I realized I actually have three hardworking assistants.
They never complain,
they ask for nothing in return,
and they don't charge me for their endless hours of service.

They simply sit quietly in my studio until I need them.
Even under pressure, they are the epitome of grace and calm.

It was then, during that epiphany,
that I knew I had to introduce them,
give them the credit they deserve....

Betty, Roberta, Jane: I love you!

Stylish Blogger (Award)...

.

Hello, darling dears!  I have indeed been absent....Life sometimes has a way of taking up all my spare time.  However, I'm so happy to be back, even in this state of running behind schedule (much like the white rabbit).

I would like to begin my reemergence into the blogosphere with a lovely honor bestowed upon me by a sweet, new friend, Jayne of Suburban Soliloquy.  Jayne is very clever and witty as well as kind and caring.  I hope you will visit her blog and get to know her a little better.

Speaking of getting to know someone better....I am asked to reveal seven things about myself upon receipt of this Stylish Blogger Award.  I know you are all waiting with bated breath, on the edge of your seats.  #sarcasm (for hashtag explanation, click here)

If you already know some of the things I'm about to list, I apologize for the repeat....Truth be told, I am both touched and amazed to think that you may have an interest in these little tidbits about me.  I can't help but feel you will be bored to tears, but here it goes....

1) Every time it rains (like yesterday), I think of the people who have nowhere to live.  Out in the wet and cold. It's not that I don't think of people without homes during fair weather.  It's just that my heart breaks a little more each time it rains.

2) I dream in color.

3) Music and the water element are very powerful influences in my creative process.

4) I love to read (almost) all forms of literature, but I find that poetry deeply and profoundly affects me.

5) I don't like going to the market, but I do like doing laundry.

6) I make sublists of my lists.  Yes, yes I do. Which actually should make me kind of enjoy going to the market, but nope.  Still despise grocery shopping.

7) I'm a collector.  I collect many things, such as keys, buttons, lace, buckles, and locks (just to name a few).  Only old stuff though.  I love old stuff.  Also, old movies and old photos, old letters and old songs.

Bonus tidbits a and b and c:

a) I don't watch reality TV.  Ever.  I've never seen Survivor, American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, for instance.  *shudder*

I did, however, recently discover the most inspiring, fabulous documentary on the Sundance Channel.  If you get the chance, please watch it.  It's called "Someone Told Me about Carla Bruni".

b) I'm a firm believer in wearing red lipstick with cutoffs and a tank top.

c) I love to dance!

and now (drumroll, please) I would like to pass this award on to someone very special.  A blogger who puts a great deal of thought and effort into her posts.  She has wonderful style and a warm heart.  She happens to be a cherished friend as well.  So, without further delay, the award goes to:

Susan of Hometown Girl

The rules:
List seven things about yourself.
Pass the award on to another blogger.
Yes, I modified the rules, as did Jayne.
We're rebels that way.

If you made it through this post without falling asleep, I
want to thank you for visiting.

Have a beautiful day!
Your comments bring me happiness, darling dears...xo

It started with an embrace...

.

Yesterday was the anniversary of my first date with Ron.  I remember it so well.  Our first date.

When he saw me that day, he hugged me. An embrace that was strong and tender at the same time.

An embrace I still feel.  Butterflies.

He sent a dozen red roses to me at work the next day.

Right now he's in Dubai.  Far, far away.  But he was right here with me all the same.

He sent me a text.  Did you know a text can reach across the world and warm you like an embrace?  It can.  It can fill your eyes with water...

"We have been together for more than half our lives.
My heart skips a beat each time I see you.
I love you."

Do you remember, dear friends?  I mentioned how I had decided this is the year of my unfolding.  Here.  To a certain degree.  In this journal, I will share more of myself with you.  Today, I wanted to share a bit of who my love is.

Thank you for stopping by, and
thank you for being you...xo

Coming soon...

Hello, dear ones.  How are you today?

I've been very busy getting things ready for a shop update.
Here is a snippet , a sneak peek, of what will be listed in my shop...

There are even more new pieces, if you can believe it.
I just simply ran out of time with photos vs. lighting today.
Which means the rest of the designs will be a surprise.

I have had the most wonderful time creating these pieces.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at them.

As always, I so appreciate the fact that you take time out of your day to visit me.
Thank you so much...xo

Ron update:
His flights out of Montreal were cancelled due to crazy weather, poor guy.
He has rescheduled flights for tomorrow,
rerouting through New York instead of Chicago.
With any luck he'll be on his way to Paris this time tomorrow.
Fingers and toes crossed!

I hope you are safe and snug in your cozy home.

.

And the winner is...

.

The sweet and charming Abby of Abby's Paperie Garden is the winner of the Bustle Collar.  Congratulations, Abby, and I will be in touch with you soon!  The winner was picked using RANDOM.ORG.

Thank you all so much for being so supportive and fun and playing along with this giveaway!  I can't believe how many of you entered, I'm truly touched.  As always, I wish you all could have won.  I'm certain I will have another Fringe giveaway in the not-too-distant future.

In a day or two, I will be posting some sneak peek photos of new items that I plan to list in my shop this week.  I hope you will come back to see what's cookin', good lookin'....

Have a beautiful evening,
and thank you for being you.

Much love...xo
